Frequently asked questions

Why don't you advertise lumens?
Because brightness isn't the goal. Your lights are meant to make your home look good, not light up the whole street. A spec sheet number tells you nothing about how evenly the lights are spaced, whether the whites match from one end of the house to the other, or whether the track is straight. Those are the things you'll actually see every night.
Does voltage matter?
What matters is that every run gets enough power. When a run is under-powered, whites drift toward pink, blue or green toward the end of the line. We plan power for each run and check it, along with white balance, before we leave. That's the part that shows up on your house.
Why BlueHopper?
It's built on the MeshTek platform (40+ patents) and backed by a real manufacturer with a written, transferable warranty. We'd rather tell you exactly what's going on your roof than sell you a mystery box. If a company won't tell you what they install, ask why.
What does the warranty cover?
Two layers. Our 1-year labor guarantee covers service and component replacement at zero labor cost for the first 12 months. BlueHopper's manufacturer warranty covers roofline track for 7 years and roofline lights, controllers and power supplies for 5 years, and it transfers to the next homeowner. See the full warranty.
What if you go out of business?
Fair question. Your manufacturer warranty comes from BlueHopper, not from us, so it doesn't disappear if we do. That's a big reason we install a named, manufacturer-backed system instead of an unbranded one.
Does it need Wi-Fi?
No. You can control your lights over Bluetooth from the driveway, even if your Wi-Fi is weak. Connect it to Wi-Fi and you can control everything from anywhere, including on vacation. Schedules are stored on the controller, so they keep running even after a power outage.
Will my HOA approve it?
Most do. The track is color-matched to your trim and the lights are designed to point down, not out, so it looks clean during the day and never glares at the neighbors. We fill out your HOA architectural review form for you.
What does it cost?
Projects start at $2,500. Your price depends on how much roofline you want lit, how many stories we're working with and where we can tie into power. You'll get an exact number on your video call, not a range.
